Thandiyadi

 Batticaloa

This village is situated in the Eastern part of Sri Lanka, which has about 150 families was adopted in May 2014. The men in these families are daily waged labourers. The following activities were carried out:

• Provision of mid-day meals for about 290 students of Thandiyadi Vicneswara Maha Vidyalaya from grade 6 to grade 13 daily since 2014 May.
• More than 25 bicycles were given to students who live far away from school.
• Provision of mid-day meals for about 30 preschool children daily.

The attendance of students had improved and students had entered University for their Higher studies for the first time this year. Student attitude and a remarkable improvement in the school teachers can be seen. Earlier they did not show much interest in the development of children. Now they have become dedicated and hard-working.
