These two adjoining villages with a total of 250 families are in the eastern part of Sri Lanka and were adopted in September 2013.  Both these villages are isolated, severely affected by the war and are located far away from the normal bus routes. • Sewing machines and materials were provided.
    • An instructress was appointed to teach more than 30 ladies.
    • Construction of two wells each for both villages.
  • Support for cultivation:
    • Standard seeds were provided to 250 families.
    • Advice on maximum usage of land and organic methods of cultivation was provided.

    • Conducting EHV classes.
  • Continuously integrated awareness programs for children, youth and Adults (7 sessions have been completed).

  • Framed pictures of Swami were distributed to all families in both villages.
  • A library each in both villages was opened upon the villagers’ request. These libraries have both Sai literature and many other useful books. An individual each from both villages have been trained to maintain the libraries.

Through these activities, nearly 100 families have begun to follow swami’s teachings. In addition, children have continuously been involved in value education and a positive attitude among the villagers has been cultivated. Furthermore, the Youths of this region has become quite helpful in organising Sai activities and may war widows are leading a peaceful life.
