Annual Visit to Leprosy Home, spreading love and joy to patients in view of Valentine's Day.

2018-02-11 | Sathya Sai Center Colombo | Colombo

The Leprosy Home located in Hendala (North of Colombo) currently accommodates 23 live-in patients, most of whom are leading bedridden and monotonous lives. It is not very often that they get to interact with outsiders or have some fun, joy, and laughter in their lives as they undergo medical care.

In view of Valentine's Day, the Leprosy home visit is carried out in the month of February every year by the Young Adults of the Sathya Sai Centre of Colombo. This project witnesses a lot of selfless effort by Bal Vikas children as well in preparing hand-made valentine’s day cards for the patients every year. The YA cook a delicious Kotthu Rotti meal (Sri Lankan delicacy) which is served for dinner and the have fun music sessions to encourage the patients to sing and dance along to Sri Lankan folk songs.

This project was once again an eye-opener for all youths and an opportunity to serve the needy and deserved.
