2020-03-07 | Western and Southern Region | Anamaduwa

This water purification project initiated by the Western & Southern Region of the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization (SSIO) Sri Lanka in the H7 village in Marungoda, Mahauswewa, Anamaduwa was inaugurated on the 7th of March 2020. This village is a newly adopted village (24th Village) by SSIO, Sri Lanka under the Global 95 Communities adoption program initiated by SSIO.

Due to high calcium content in the drinking water, people from this area were affected by chronic kidney diseases. The work on this project commenced in August 2019 was completed successfully with the installation of a water purification plant in the Siri Perakum Primary School that has the capacity to distribute 5,000 liters of purified water to the village per day. Through this effort, 250 families (approximately 1,200 persons) living in this village will receive purified water

With the grace of our beloved Bhagavan, the inauguration ceremony commenced with omkar and Veda chanting. Following the chanting, five saplings were planted by the students of Siri Perakum Primary School. The children also presented cultural programs to liven the occasion and the villagers expressed gratitude for this selfless service.

The Primary School Children with a strength of 84 children were presented with school bags.

The Divine Sankalpa of Swami brought to an end, one of the main sufferings of this village.
