 Anamaduwa

This village was adopted by the SSIO – Sri Lanka under the Global 95 communities’ adoption program in March 2020.

Due to high calcium content in the drinking water, people from this area were affected by chronic kidney diseases. The project commenced in August 2019 and was completed successfully with the installation of a water purification plant in the Siri Perakum Primary School. It holds a capacity of 5,000 liters of purified water to cater to the village every day. Through this effort, 250 families (approximately 1,200 persons) living in this village are receiving purified water. On the day of the inauguration of this plant, five saplings were planted by the students of Siri Perakum Primary School. The children also presented cultural programs and the villagers expressed their gratitude for this selfless service. Also, the Primary School Children with a strength of 84 children were presented with school bags.
