This is a new colony established in the year 1985 and 108 landless families were settled by the Government in 1/2 acre plots. This village is in Odduchuddan Divisional Secretary division. These families were mainly dependant on agricultural labour for their livelihood which is seasonal. In order to uplift the living condition of these families, SSIO - Sri Lanka adopted this village under the SSVIP. The activities carried out in this region are:
- Establishment of a Sai Mandali in this village in 2015 and Balvikas classes are being conducted.
- Construction of a bhajan hall and regular bhajans are being held.
- Establishment of a preschool. There are 20 kids and 02 teachers are employed. This preschool is considered as a model school by the Education Department.
- Tuition classes are conducted for students.
- Providing tap water supply to all the 108 houses through the Water Supply and Drainage Board.
- Construction of 08 toilets for families who did not have that facility.
- Depending on 22 wells for home gardening.
- The Sai Mandali had been extended to include a kitchen and dining area in order to have monthly Narayana Seva.
- 04 families identified in worse conditions among the underprivileged families are being assisted financially for the education of their children and to have at least a square meal a day.
- 20 students from this village are enrolled in the EHV program conducted by the Sai Centre.
Today, this community has become a Sai community and an improvement in the quality of life can be seen.
