The SSIO Sri Lanka's initiation of the "95 Communities" worldwide service project is a heartfelt tribute to Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba on his 95th year of advent. This endeavour aims to embrace a minimum of 95 communities across the globe, with the intention of ensuring sustainable human development by addressing fundamental needs. These communities are meticulously selected, taking into account their food and nutrition requirements, educational needs rooted in values, water and sanitation essentials, general healthcare access, and the unique socio-economic and socio-political dynamics of each region.
In Sri Lanka, the SSIO has embraced 24 villages over a period of 3 decades, as part of its longstanding commitment to community service projects. These villages include Aliwatte & Moratuwa in Colombo, Poombuhar & Easwaripuram in Vavuniya, Nerupuram, Vadamunai, Uttuchenai, Kannaki, Sri Vallipuram, Karadiyankulam, Bharathypuram, Mavilangathurai, Veeramunai & 4th Colony in Batticaloa, Poombuhar, Selvapuram, Inpacholai, Thirumalpuram in Jaffna, Vithiyapuram, Kanjooramoddai in Mullaithivu, Kiravalkuzhi in Pottuvil, Kathaliyar Samalankulam in Oddusuddan and Anamaduwa. The impact of these initiatives is visible in the positive changes, improved living conditions, and increased unity and harmony within these communities.
The SSIO's dedication to these adopted communities in Sri Lanka exemplifies the organization's commitment to human welfare, providing essential support, and fostering a sense of belonging and unity among the residents.
