Kanjooramoddai

 Mullaithivu

This remote village is situated in the Mullaitivu district, North Central part of Sri Lanka. Upon the request of the Nedunkeni divisional secretary, this village was adopted by the SSIO – Sri Lanka. These villagers were displaced due to civil war and are now returning back to this village for resettlement. The Government in unison with the Indian Government, has funded and only allocated 40 perches of land for construction of a house each for a family and also half an acre of land for cultivation.

As all have lost their belongings due to the war, the villagers are living under the utmost hardships. Therefore, considering their poverty, the SSIO carried out the following services for these deserving people,

• Constructed and running of a pre-school for the children.
• Providing dry ration to 30 resettled families.

Also, we are hoping to do a livelihood project for these families with the approval of the Grama Seva Officer and the divisional secretary.
