Poombuhar Village in Ariyalai which is in the Jaffna district in the Northern Part of Sri Lanka was adopted in the year 2012. In which nearly 185 families who have been displaced due to the war are residing. The majority are living in cottages as a result of the war and their main occupation is finishing and manual labour. As of today, an improvement in the quality of living can be seen. Children from this village have begun to attend SSE classes and regular bhajans are being conducted.
