During the latter part of November 2025, Cyclone Ditwah brought relentless rainfall, flooding, and earthslides across Sri Lanka, severely disrupting daily life island-wide. Over 1.4 million people were affected, with widespread displacement and damage to homes, infrastructure, and essential services across 22 out of 25 districts. Guided by His teachings and inspired by His grace, Sri Sathya Sai Centres across Sri Lanka came together to serve affected communities, offering not just relief, but love in action. This collective response reflected Bhagawan’s message of “Unity is Divinity,” as Sai devotees from different regions worked hand in hand, in close coordination with government officials and local authorities, becoming instruments compassion.
The disaster relief Seva was planned and carried out in four phases, responding gently and progressively to the needs on the ground - beginning with immediate food support, extending to essential daily needs, and moving towards health care, school supplies, and livelihood recovery. Each phase was undertaken as a humble offering at the Divine Lotus Feet of Bhagawan, with the prayer that His love may comfort, uplift, and strengthen all those affected.
As Bhagawan assures us:
Essential support was extended to the Elders’ Home, Kahilagoda, Badulla, operated by the Badulla Samaja Seva Sangamaya, which was severely affected by the recent floods.
Essential relief packs were lovingly distributed to 18 families affected by the recent floods in the Gampola area of the Central Region on 4th January 2025.
On 28 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Nawalapitiya extended loving service by distributing dry ration packs to 45 families in Mawathura, Ulapane.
In the Central Region, on 27 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Nawalapitiya extended loving service by distributing dry ration “love” packages and clothing to 25 families in Thamarawalli, Dolosbage.
On 25 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Devotional Group of Welimada extended loving service by carrying out a dry ration and clothing distribution for families affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
On 07 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Point Pedro extended loving service at Thadduvan Koddy by distributing 90 sets of school supplies to support children affected by the floods.
In the Northern Region, on 04 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centres of Chankanai and Siththankeny extended loving service at Inpacholai, an adopted village of SSSIO Sri Lanka in Jaffna.
In the Central Region, from 14 to 17 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Talawakelle extended loving service to families affected by floods in and around Talawakelle.
On 04 and 07 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centres of Arayampathy, Thamaraikeni and Vantharumoolai extended loving service in Batticaloa district by distributing warm lunches and dry rations “love” packages to families affected by the floods.
In the North Central Region, Sri Sathya Sai Centres of Kilinochchi, Vithyapuram, Vavuniya and Thanneeroottu carried out disaster relief services to flood-affected families from 28 November to 10 December 2025.
On 07 December 2025, the SSE students in Hatton extended loving service to families sheltered at Republican International School - Holbrook, Agrapatana.
On 07 December 2025, relief service was carried out in Badulla District by the Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Badulla together with members from the Eastern Region.
In the Central Region, service was carried out by Sri Sathya Sai Centres of Hatton, Senkadagala, Nawalapitiya, Kandy and Thalawakele to support families affected by floods and earthslips.
In the Northern Region, service was undertaken by Sri Sathya Sai Centres of Point Pedro, Vadamaradchi (Point Pedro, Katkovalam), Jaffna, and a joint service by the Sangaanai and Siththankerny Sai Centres.
In the Western & Southern Region, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Colombo carried out disaster relief service by providing warm lunches, dinner packets and essential dry rations from 28 to 30 November and on 04 December 2025.

In the Wanathavilluwa Divisional Secretariat Area, dry ration family packs and clothing were distributed to affected families in the villages of Pukkulam, Aluth Eluwankulama and Wattakandal.

Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Kandy extended support by distributing 30 dry ration packs to families in Polwatta impacted by the recent floods.
Essential support was extended to the Up-country Children’s Home, Kahilagoda, Badulla, which was significantly affected by the recent floods.
With the divine grace of Bhagawan, flood relief service was lovingly carried out on 16th January 2026 to support families resettling after the recent floods caused by Cyclone Ditwah in the Gampola, Pussellawa and Ramboda areas.
On 09 December 2025, with Bhagawan’s grace, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Colombo identified 15 mothers and their children from Tudella West who had previously sought refuge at the Mother of Refuge Church due to the floods.
On 20 December 2025, Sri Sathya Sai Centre of Talawakelle continued its disaster relief service by extending loving support to villagers affected by landslides in the Nuwara Eliya District.
With Swami’s divine grace, the Colombo Samithi of W&S Region extended its relief efforts to Kandy , one of the cities most affected by the recent floods.
In the wake of the severe floods triggered by the Ditwah cyclone, Sri Lanka witnessed widespread devastation. The disaster claimed over 350 lives, left many missing, and displaced more than 20,000 people into temporary shelters.
