In celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, over 20 Young Adults from the Sri Sathya Sai Centre, Colombo, lovingly organized a special Avurudhu program on Sunday, 20th April 2025 at the Sathya Sai Suwasevana Cancer Hospice in Hanwella. The program brought together 47 residents from both the Hospice and the Sathya Sai Elders’ Home in Meegoda, creating a beautiful space of unity, joy, and spiritual connection.

The day commenced with a soulful Special Bhajan and New Year greetings, which set a heartfelt and uplifting tone for the celebrations. Traditional Avurudhu games followed, thoughtfully arranged by the Young Adults, bringing smiles and laughter to all who participated. The interactive segment provided a moving opportunity for the elders to reflect and express their gratitude to Bhagawan.

As part of the day’s offerings, personalized gifts were lovingly distributed. Inmates at the Hospice received personal essentials including colognes, talcum powder, oil, slippers, and clothing for some. For the Elders' Home, a carrom board and a dam board were gifted to encourage recreation and fellowship.

The celebration concluded with a warm and lovingly prepared lunch, served with respect and affection. The entire day was a humble yet heartfelt expression of Swami’s love — a reminder that true celebration lies in bringing comfort, joy, and companionship to others.
