In view of the 99th year of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba's advent, the Colombo Centre of Western & Southern Region (W&S) and Northern Region of SSSIO Sri Lanka organized two "Liquid Love" blood donation camps. Held on October 20, 2024, in Jaffna and on October 24, 2024, in Colombo, these camps united individuals in selfless service, sharing the gift of life and promoting Swami’s enduring message of universal love.
The Colombo camp, held at the Sai Mandir, took place from 2 PM to 6:30 PM and witnessed a total turnout of 56 participants joining the cause. Among these, 45 were volunteers who came forward to donate, and of them, 29 were eligible, resulting in the collection of 29 pints of blood. The camp was managed by a devoted team, comprising 5 volunteers, 5 skilled nursing officers, and 1 on-site blood bank doctor.
In Jaffna, 55 participants attended, and 34 of the 37 volunteer donors were eligible, yielding 34 pints of blood. Supported by 3 nursing officers, a doctor, a public health inspector, 7 sevathaals and 6 enthusiastic youth members, this camp fostered a spirit of community and compassion.
Combined, the camps in Colombo and Jaffna mobilized a total of 111 participants, comprising both SSSIO members and non-members, and collected 63 pints of blood.'
