Monthly Care Packs for Expectant Mothers – Trincomalee, Eastern Region.

2025-04-10 | Eastern Region | _

With the infinite grace of Bhagawan, the Sri Sathya Sai Centre, Trincomalee, has initiated a compassionate monthly service project to support underprivileged expectant mothers in the region. In honour of Bhagawan’s 100th year of advent, this ongoing initiative provides essential nutrition and care items to 50 pregnant mothers each month until they give birth.

This seva is being carried out through the collaboration of local polyclinics in ten locations across and around Trincomalee, including Abeyapura, Orr's Hill, Manayaveli, Villundy, and Thirukadaloor. The program began in April 2025 and continues to be a source of comfort, nourishment, and hope for many women in need.

Monthly Breakdown of the Care Packs:

  • April 2025 – Month 1:
Each mother received a box of milk powder and 500g of sugar to support basic nutritional needs.

  • May 2025 – Month 2:
    The care packs included:
    • 500g of dates
    • 150g of plums
    • 200g of roasted gram
    • 150g of peanuts
    • 250g of chickpeas
    • 250g of green gram

  • June 2025 – Month 3:
The third month’s package consists of:
    • 1kg of flattened rice / rice flakes
    • 500g of black gram (ulunthu)
    • 250g of jaggery
    • 250g box of margarine

In addition to these monthly distributions, special Delivery Baskets were offered to five mothers whose expected dates of delivery fall between June and early July. These mothers had been consistently supported by the Sai Centre since April, making the gesture even more meaningful as an offering during this sacred centenary year.

This project has not only addressed the physical needs of the mothers but has also provided emotional reassurance that they are seen, supported, and loved — echoing the teachings of Bhagawan: “Love All – Serve All.”
