Amidst the compassionate ambiance of the Colombo Sai Mandir, devotees gathered on the morning of June 5, 2024, for a Narayana Seva organized by the Colombo Sai Samithi of the Western and Southern Region, dedicated to supporting flood-affected communities. The Seva activity saw enthusiastic participation from 30 devotees of all ages, including young adults and Mahilas, who came together with a shared purpose.
This diverse group of volunteers, who gathered at the Sai Mandir at 7:00 AM, set to work cooking a large quantity of nourishing meals. The collective effort in the Mandir’s kitchen was a sight to behold, with volunteers working together to prepare food with dedication and care. Once the cooking was completed, the volunteers organized an efficient assembly line to pack the meals into individual lunch packs.
After the packing was completed, a dedicated team of volunteers took the responsibility of delivering the meal packs to the affected areas. This team traveled to Kelaniya and Wellampitiya, regions severely impacted by the floods, where many families had lost their means of cooking and access to regular meals. The volunteers personally handed over 610 packs of meals to the families, ensuring that the food reached those in dire need.
This Narayana Seva not only provided immediate nourishment but also conveyed a profound message of love, hope, and solidarity. The selfless service rendered by the Sai devotees was a shining example of compassion, showing the power of collective effort in alleviating suffering and bringing joy to humanity.
