Thirumalpuram is a small village situated along the coastline near Katkovalam, in Point Pedro. The Government had helped in building houses and a community hall for the 61 newly settled villages, whose income is from fishing and from casual manual work.
In the process of spreading the values and teachings of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the Sathya Sai Centre of Katkovalam has been conducting Education in Human Values (EHV) and Bal Vikas classes, and have been consistently helping 55 students improve on their school education since the year 2016.
On the 8th of July 2018, in felicitation of this long term relationship established between this beautiful community and the SSIO, a celebration was organized jointly by the Sai Centres of Katkovalam, Point Pedro, Nellandai, Manthihai, and Valvettithurai. The function consisted of a nagarsankirthan; a special address by members of the SSIO to the 30 parents and 55 students who attended the event; a documentary titled Swami’s Life and Teachings - along with a medical camp and Narayana Seva (distribution of food to the needy). The children were gifted exercise books and tee shirts printed with the words "Love All Serve All", one of Sri Sathya Sai Baba's simplest yet most profound teachings.
