Thandiyadi village in the Eastern region is one of the village adopted under Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Program (SSVIP). SSSIO Sri Lanka has been committed to providing houses for people below poverty line. As part of this project Thirukovil Sathya Sai Centre identified a single mother who is a daily wage earner with 2 children aged 5 and 10 years old. Moved by their plight the Eastern region of SSSIO Sri Lanka with the help of Vision of Love decided to build a house for the family to ensure the children have a safe place to live.
On the auspicious day of Aradana Mahotsavam (24th April 2021) the foundation stone was laid. However due to the ongoing pandemic the construction work was delayed and restarted on the Guru Poornima Day (24th July 2021).
