The Sathya Sai Medical Team from the Eastern Region conducted a medical camp in view of Swami's Avatarhood Declaration Day, at Vadamunai and Uthuchenai, on the 22nd of October 2017.
These 2 villages fall under the Sathya Sai Village Improvement Program under the guidance of the Sathya Sai Centre of Thamaraikerny and are located 75 km away from Batticaloa town. The nearest district hospital is in Valachchenai which is 40KMs away from these villages.
The following services were carried out during the medical camp:
1. A general medical check-up
2. Dental checkup
3. Eye checkup
4. Health education
5. Provision of Love packs for children
6. Spiritual Educare
7. Milk for pregnant mothers
A total number of 124 patients were served, out of which 15 patients were treated for dental, and 23 patients were provided with eye checkups where 20 reading glasses were given to those that required it.
The team that carried out this project comprised of 3 General doctors, a dentist, a dental therapist, 3 nurses, 2 pharmacists, an optician, 3 Public Health Inspectors and 25 Sai volunteers.
